Dr. Victoria Cheng is an associate in the San Diego office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she is a member of the patents and innovations practice. Her practice focuses on patent prosecution and intellectual property counseling related to chemistry, chemical biology, and pharmaceuticals.
Prior to attending law school, she completed her Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of Utah. Her studies focused on spectroscopic investigations of membrane and protein-membrane dynamics, such as fatty acid transport and the proton-pumping mechanism in heme-copper oxidases (such as cytochrome oxidases).
During law school, she gained patent prosecution experience as a patent agent in the fields of semiconductors, materials chemistry, and nuclear chemistry. She also worked with small startup companies through the Lassonde Institute based out of the University of Utah School of Business.

On December 22, 2023, Unilever, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire premium biotech haircare brand K18. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is advising K18 on intellectual property, licensing, and corporate matters related to the transaction.
