Roshni Ghosh is an associate in the New York office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she is a member of the patents and innovations practice. Her practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and due diligence matters in the fields of biotechnology, including gene therapy, mRNA therapeutics, cell-based therapy, immunotherapy, cancer therapy, antibody therapeutics, microbiology, and virology-related technologies for life sciences companies at various stages of the business cycle. She has extensive experience in the fields of molecular biology, immunology, genetics, cancer biology, microbiology, and genomics.
Prior to joining the firm, Roshni was an associate at a Boston-based IP boutique firm, where she focused on preparing patent applications and responses to office actions, managing patent portfolios, reviewing foreign patent filings, and drafting instructions to foreign associates. In addition, Roshni worked as an in-house patent agent in the IP portfolio development group at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, where she worked collaboratively with the business development and research groups to build and manage portfolios and implement strategies to protect IP assets.
During law school, Roshni served as a judicial extern to U.S. Magistrate Judge Tonianne Bongiovanni of the District of New Jersey under the Patent Pilot Program. Before law school, she held technology transfer internships with the New York Blood Center and at Richard Cahoon Consulting, a technology transfer consulting firm, and held research internships with Dey's Pharmaceuticals, National Institute of Immunology, and Calcutta University in India. Roshni’s Ph.D. thesis focused on the impact of ubiquitination on the complex process of sperm individualization, specifically during nuclear condensation and its role in causing male infertility.
In her free time, Roshni serves as a mentor to graduate students, postdocs, and law students interested in pursuing a career in IP law.
Roshni is fluent in Bengali and Hindi.
