Paul Harold is an associate in Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati’s Washington, D.C., office and a member of the firm’s appellate practice. Paul provides guidance on cutting-edge strategies and novel theories of liability. He focuses on drafting persuasive briefs for high-stakes motions and appeals. He has briefed appeals in federal and state appellate courts, as well as petitions seeking and opposing discretionary review in federal and state appellate courts. Paul regularly represents clients in petitioning for and opposing certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Paul has also briefed high-stakes motions in complex commercial and patent disputes in federal and state courts and before arbitral tribunals. His trial level experience includes drafting and arguing a successful motion to dismiss a putative class action suit alleging breaches of fiduciary duty. Paul has also worked as part of trial teams in federal and state courts, including in Beef Products Inc. v. ABC, a landmark defamation case.
Paul has particular experience in representing clients in speech-related matters, including claims and defenses arising under the First Amendment and related statutes, such as Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
Before joining the firm, Paul practiced as an associate in the appellate practice of a leading international law firm in Washington, D.C.
After law school, Paul served as a law clerk for the Honorable John M. Rogers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
