Kim Biagioli is senior counsel in the antitrust practice of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where her practice focuses on United States antitrust and competition law. She advises clients in a variety of industries on all aspects of the merger review and clearance process, including Hart-Scott-Rodino Act compliance. Kim also provides guidance on antitrust risks of mergers and acquisitions and other transactional issues, including pre-closing conduct.
Kim has extensive experience in government antitrust enforcement. She served as an attorney in the Mergers IV division of the Federal Trade Commission. In that role, Kim investigated mergers and acquisitions in a variety of industries, including healthcare, retail, and consumer products. She served on the prevailing trial team in Federal Trade Commission v. Staples Inc. and Office Depot Inc. During her time at the Federal Trade Commission, Kim completed a secondment to the Premerger Notification Office where she assisted staff in the assessment of Hart-Scott Rodino filings.
Most recently, Kim served as Antitrust Counsel in the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, where she participated in several large multistate investigations and litigation alleging violations of federal and state antitrust law.
Before moving to her roles in the government, Kim worked in the Washington, D.C., office of an international law firm. In that role she represented clients in antitrust investigations before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice, including with respect to preliminary investigations, second requests, and divestitures. She also worked with clients in many industries to prepare and file Hart-Scott Rodino notifications.
Kim is practicing virtually from Kansas, where she is licensed.
