Joshua Baskin is a partner in the San Francisco office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he focuses on intellectual property and commercial litigation, as well as trial practice. Josh has significant jury trial experience in federal courts across the country, including in trade secret, unfair competition, and patent trials. He has particular expertise in the use of new technology to streamline trial preparation and to provide visuals and demonstrations to aid jury and court comprehension of intricate factual and legal issues, including complex technologies.

In addition to his trial practice, Josh is well versed in all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including discovery practice, hearings, and dispositive motions. His practice also involves counseling clients on intellectual property disputes, such as ownership claims, confidentiality issues, and similar matters. This counseling often involves analysis of cutting-edge issues in technology and the law.

Josh has represented clients in federal trial and appellate courts, California state court, and in arbitration.

During law school, Josh served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Susan Y. Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and to the Honorable Marla J. Miller of the California Superior Court of San Francisco. In addition, he interned at both the Federal Trade Commission and the San Francisco City Attorney's Office.
