Joseph Baillargeon is an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he specializes in intellectual property protection. Joseph’s practice focuses on patent litigation, patent prosecution, and contested proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has represented a diverse array of clients ranging from large, publicly traded companies to small start-ups. This work involves a wide variety of technologies, including software, networking, encryption, electronic devices, telecommunications, financial systems, medical devices, and the mechanical arts.

Prior to law school, Joseph worked as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office prosecuting patents in the technology fields of optics, semiconductor manufacturing, microwave radiation, and control systems. He has also worked as a reactor plant supervisor for the U.S. Navy where he operated, supervised, and repaired the electrical, mechanical, and control systems of several nuclear reactors.
