Jesse Lazarus is an associate in the Boston office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he is part of the firm’s energy and climate solutions practice.
During law school, Jesse worked part-time as a senior associate at Stanford’s Lawyers for a Sustainable Economy initiative where he performed research on solutions to the most critical legal and policy obstacles facing climate tech ventures. He also assessed and matched early-stage climate tech ventures seeking legal help with law firms. Jesse worked with faculty and staff to advise the U.S. SEC’s Senior Policy Advisor for Climate and ESG on developing a new climate financial risk disclosure rule and helped Stanford Ph.D.s and M.B.A.s build climate tech ventures in Stanford Climate Ventures.
Jesse was a summer associate at Jones Day and Law & Policy, a senior summer associate at the Gates Ventures-backed clean energy firm Heliogen, and a summer associate at Imperial Ridge Real Estate Capital.
Before law school, Jesse spent three years working in boutique strategy consulting in China, where he advised some of the world’s largest global investment management companies, institutional investors, and global custodial banks. During this time, he was quoted in major media in English and Chinese, including in Reuters, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times’ Ignites Asia, and Yicai.com. He also spent a year as the China investment sector specialist on the research team of global real estate brokerage CBRE. Before graduating law school, he served as an external consultant for the Environmental Defense Fund in China.
