James Ryan is a patent agent in the New York office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he is a member of the patents and innovations practice. His scientific background includes experience in neuroscience, pharmacology, genetics, and cellular and molecular biology. James applies his experience to patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate, and due diligence matters for clients in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, and medical devices industries.
Prior to joining the firm, James completed his doctoral training at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Cornell University. His dissertation investigated genetic polymorphisms and novel therapeutics relevant to neuropsychiatric disease. During graduate school, James also spent time working within Cornell University’s Center for Technology Licensing office on technology transfer matters.
