Catherine A. Peterson is an associate in the San Francisco office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she is a member of the firm's antitrust practice. Her work encompasses a variety of antitrust matters including litigations and mergers and acquisitions. Catherine has extensive experience in all stages of litigation—from pre-litigation counseling through trial. She has taken and defended depositions of witnesses and draws on her background in economics to serve her antitrust clients including working closely with expert economists.
Prior to joining the firm, Catherine was an antitrust and commercial litigation associate at a leading international law firm in Washington, D.C. She previously clerked for the Honorable John P. Bailey, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. Prior to law school, she served eight years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, including a tour in Iraq.
Catherine maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented persons charged with the death penalty, veterans, and asylum seekers.
She is fluent in French and Romanian.
