Atussa Simon is an associate in the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she is a member of the technology transactions practice and a co-founder of the firm’s electronic gaming group. Atussa focuses on intellectual property, licensing, and commercial transactions, with particular expertise in software, e-gaming, SaaS, digital media, open source, and mergers and acquisitions. Atussa also advises a variety of new and emerging companies ranging from autonomous vehicles to cosmetics. Additionally, Atussa provides counsel for numerous pro bono clients in the areas of subsidized housing, inclusivity for people with disabilities, and social and emotional learning programs for kids.
Prior to law school, Atussa was a serial entrepreneur working in the tech industry. Some of her work includes the founding of an independent game and machinima studio, launching a full-featured massively multiplayer online game (MMO) for children, and spearheading the graduate game education program at Southern Methodist University.
Atussa has been featured in two books, including Changing Our World: True Stories of Women Engineers by Sybil E. Hatch for her contributions in the digital entertainment industry, and Machinima by Dave Morris, Matt Kelland, and Dave Lloyd in which she is recognized as a contributor to real-time computer-generated films.
