On April 12, 2023, Wilson Sonsini partners Luis Li and Eric Tuttle were selected as recipients of the Daily Journal's 2023 California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year (CLAY) Awards for representing Vanessa Bryant in the widely watched federal civil rights trial against the County of Los Angeles. The CLAY Awards recognize California attorneys across many fields of law whose work made a significant impact during the previous year. The special profile details the events leading up to and major turns in the trial and, finally, the settlement of the case and related claims in February for $28.85 million.

Luis said he believes the verdict is affecting courts and police departments across the country, noting that the South Carolina judge in the Alex Murdaugh trial made a point to seal crime scene and autopsy photos. “I think the fact that people are now paying more attention to this ... will have an impact on departments all over the country ... and hopefully these types of invasions of privacy that are really hurtful will stop,” Luis said.
