In October 2021, The American Lawyer selected Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati as a 2021 regional Litigation Department of the Year finalist for California.

The award was announced as part of The American Lawyer Industry Awards, an annual competition that recognizes the top attorneys, law firms, legal departments, and organizations in the U.S. The regional Litigation Department of the Year awards honor the best litigation departments in each jurisdiction. 

The American Lawyer announced the 2021 regional Litigation Department of the Year finalists on October 7, 2021. Only five firms were selected as regional finalists in California. In describing the firms selected as part of its annual Industry Awards, The American Lawyer said, "[i]n courtrooms and Zoom rooms ... these law firms did their best work to deliver results for clients in the most high-stakes, high-profile cases on the docket."
