Wilson Sonsini Receives Honorable Mention in The American Lawyer's 2021 Litigation Department of the Year Recognitions
On December 14, 2021, The American Lawyer published a list of Honorable Mentions for the nationwide 2021 Litigation Department of the Year recognitions. Wilson Sonsini was profiled among the eight firms deserving of honorable mention.
Wilson Sonsini was included for a case dealing with partisanship in the judiciary. The firm represented Delaware’s governor on the way to a unanimous Supreme Court ruling preserving a statute that ensures the state’s judges are politically balanced. Additionally, YouTube and Twitter both turned to Wilson Sonsini's litigators to lead winning defenses against claims that they improperly censor content. And in a criminal trial over what the government called “the largest Ponzi scheme since Bernie Madoff,” the firm secured a complete dismissal of claims against the former chief investment officer at failed hedge fund Platinum Partners.
Earlier in the year, The American Lawyer also selected Wilson Sonsini as a 2021 regional Litigation Department of the Year finalist for California.
