On June 1, 2022, the American Bar Association (ABA) announced that Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati will receive the ABA's 2022 Pro Bono Publico Award. This prestigious recognition is presented annually to individual lawyers and law firms "that have enhanced the human dignity of others by improving or delivering volunteer legal services to our nation's poor and disadvantaged."
The firm was recognized for its long active civil rights and immigration pro bono work and its increase in reach, including providing assistance to Ukrainian and Afghan refugees, representing one of the largest-ever classes of vulnerable Medicare beneficiaries in a successful trial, and obtaining a historic verdict and $12 million judgement against a former Colombia paramilitary warlord of behalf of family members of an assassinated community activist.

The 2022 ABA Pro Bono Publico Award recipients will be honored during the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago on August 5, 2022.
