On February 20, 2024, Walmart and VIZIO announced that they have entered into an agreement for Walmart to acquire VIZIO for $11.50 per share in cash, for an equity value of approximately $2.3 billion. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised VIZIO on the transaction.
Walmart's acquisition of VIZIO and its SmartCast Operating System is expected to provide innovative television, in-home entertainment, and media experiences to its customers, while also offering new advertising opportunities for brands. The integration is set to enhance Walmart's media business in the U.S., known as Walmart Connect, combining it with VIZIO's ad solutions to amplify its reach and capabilities.
