On September 26, 2023, Gringo, a Brazilian start-up trying to create the "driver's super app," announced it has raised $30 million in a Series C round that will accelerate the growth of its user base and allow new services to be plugged into the platform. The fundraising was led by Valor Capital and had the participation of all previous investors, including Kaszek Ventures, ONEVC, and VEF, a London-based management company. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Valor Capital on the transaction.
Brazil has over 75 million drivers, and Gringo wants to be the super app support for all of their automotive and insurance needs. The app enables drivers to manage their car’s documentation and services in one place, including the payment of fines, taxes and licensing, contracting insurance, and loans using the vehicle as collateral. The new funding will enable the company to expand its automotive credit and insurance products and introduce new features.
The Wilson Sonsini team that advised Valor Capital on the transaction includes Matt Squires, Vanessa Jacob Heck, Jose Corte-Real, and Estefano Martinez.
