On April 7, 2020, Petlove, a Brazil-based online pet product retailer, and Japan’s SoftBank Latin American fund announced an agreement for SoftBank to invest R$250,000,000 (US$48 million) in Petlove. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Petlove in the transaction.
Existing investors in Petlove include KasZek Ventures, Monashees, and Tarpon. In a statement, Petlove founder Marcio Waldman said the investment would help accelerate Petlove’s growth amid higher demand for online services during Brazil’s period of social isolation mandated to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Members of Wilson Sonsini’s LatAm practice group represented Petlove in the transaction, including Of Counsel Matt Squires, partner Craig Sherman, and associates Vanessa Heck, Drake Glesmann and Evan Fowler.
