On June 2, 2020, National Instruments Corporation, a provider of automated test equipment and virtual instrumentation software, announced it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Israeli data analytics company OptimalPlus Ltd. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is advising National Instruments in the transaction.
National Instruments and OptimalPlus serve complementary positions in the semiconductor, automotive, and electronics industries. The combination of National Instruments’ software-centric approach with OptimalPlus’ enterprise-level analytics software is expected to increase the value of test and manufacturing data with improved quality, efficiency, and time to market.
The acquisition, valued at $365 million, is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval. The deal is expected to close in early Q3 2020.
