On March 16, 2021, Grand Rounds, a leader in healthcare quality and navigation, and Doctor on Demand, the nation’s leading virtual care provider, announced their merger agreement. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Grand Rounds in the transaction.
According to the announcement, the merger will create an integrated virtual care company that will be the first of its kind. The new company will combine Grand Rounds’ data-driven clinical navigation platform and patient advocacy tools with Doctor on Demand’s virtual care offering. The combination will accelerate the adoption of virtual care in key areas including primary care, specialty care, chronic condition management, and behavioral health. Both companies will continue to operate under their existing brands for the time being.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the first half of 2021. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
