On September 23, 2024, Oxford-based FluoRok, a deep-tech start-up focused on fluorochemical manufacturing, announced the successful completion of a £7.7 million oversubscribed funding round led by BGF with participation from Green Generation Fund, Volta Energy Technologies, current investors Oxford Science Enterprises and University of Oxford, Excellis Holding, and angels. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised FluoRok on patent matters related to the transaction.
Founded in 2022, FluoRok is a University of Oxford spin-out that has developed a patented and sustainable method of manufacturing fluorochemicals, which are key to the energy transition, healthcare, and food supply. The additional capital will be used to expand the company's team and production facilities.
