PALO ALTO, CA (July 11, 2023)—Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, today announced that Meredith Krannich has joined the firm’s Executive Advisory Program. Based in Wilson Sonsini’s Salt Lake City, Utah, office, she will advise clients on legal, operational, and business matters in her role as an Executive Advisor. Most recently, Krannich was vice president and general counsel (North America) at bioMérieux.
Krannich has substantial experience in the life sciences industry, particularly the medical device and in vitro diagnostic sectors, based on her role at bioMérieux and her previous roles as vice president of legal affairs and senior corporate counsel at BioFire Diagnostics, which was acquired by bioMérieux in 2014. At bioMérieux, she served as the chief legal advisor to the North America CEO and provided strategic legal counsel across the company. She built and led diverse, talented, and collaborative in-house legal teams and advised on key strategic business initiatives, among other matters.
Krannich joins Ken Siegel as a member of the firm’s innovative Executive Advisory Program, which offers clients experience-based, actionable, and business-focused advice. As former in-house counsel with significant legal and operational responsibilities, Krannich and Siegel help general counsel and other executives develop and prioritize practical approaches and solutions suited to each client’s unique culture, circumstances, and needs—at no cost to the client.
Wilson Sonsini’s Executive Advisory Program supports clients at every stage, whether the client is a high-growth start-up, a late-stage company preparing for an IPO, or a multinational public company. Similarly, the program is intended to support companies ranging from those with no or limited in-house legal resources to those with well-established legal teams. “Meredith has an impressive combination of industry and in-house experience, and has directly managed important strategic, operational, and internal department initiatives,” said Doug Clark, managing partner at Wilson Sonsini. “We’re pleased to welcome her as the newest member of our Executive Advisory Program. We know she’ll be a valued resource and advisor to a broad range of clients, especially those in the life sciences sector.”
Krannich has advised biotechnology and medical device manufacturers on patent infringement lawsuits throughout her career. She is currently an adjunct professor at her alma mater, the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law, where she has taught since 2014.
“I’ve always enjoyed the in-house role and the many ways that general counsel can contribute to a company’s success and growth,” Krannich said. “I was thrilled about the chance to join Wilson Sonsini and draw from my experience to help the firm’s clients address important strategic and operational functions.”
Krannich earned her J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and genetics from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England.
