On September 14, 2023, Wilson Sonsini litigation partner Victor Jih was honored as "Internet Litigation Lawyer of the Year" by the Century City Bar Association during its 55th Annual Installation and Awards Ceremony. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is a member of the Century Bar Association and was a sponsor for the event.
At the intersection of entertainment and technology, Victor has represented companies ranging from start-ups to motion picture studios and technology leaders in First Amendment, unfair competition, consumer privacy, class action defense, contract, employment law, and other commercial matters. He draws upon his generalist experience and broad knowledge of the law to develop novel solutions to his clients’ problems.
Victor’s body of work includes representing CBS Radio in litigation over public performance rights in pre-1972 sound recordings, representing the creators of Call of Duty and Modern Warfare in their dispute with Activision, defending Hulu and Disney+ in a wave of municipal class actions in over a dozen states, defending the recently launched “Shop Like a Billionaire” platform Temu in its dispute with Shein over trademark and copyright infringement, and representing Google in a series of cases that revisit how consumer class actions in California should proceed.
