On March 8, 2017, Vertiflex, a leading innovator of advanced, minimally invasive interventions for spinal stenosis, announced that it has closed a $40 million round of financing led by new investors Endeavour Vision and H.I.G. BioHealth Partners, with participation from existing investors New Enterprise Associates, Thomas, McNerney & Partners, and Alta Partners. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Vertiflex in the transaction.
According to a company press release, proceeds from the financing will primarily be used to fund U.S. commercial expansion of Vertiflex's Superion® Indirect Decompression System, a minimally invasive spinal implant designed to treat moderate lumbar spinal stenosis.
The WSGR team that advised Vertiflex in the transaction included partner Marty Waters and associate Meg Burton.
