On July 15, 2024, Los Angeles Business Journal honored litigators Luis Li and Victor Jih in its 2024 supplement of “Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys.” The professionals featured in the report were selected for inclusion based on a demonstration of impact made on the profession and on the Los Angeles community.
The accompanying profile highlights Luis’ arrival at the firm in 2021 as a push to enhance its profile as a national trial firm and his efforts in securing a $15 million jury award (and ultimately a nearly $30 million settlement) for Kobe Bryant’s widow Vanessa in the nationally covered trial following the helicopter crash that took the life of the basketball legend, their daughter and seven others.
Victor Jih is noted for combining his background in entertainment and media disputes with Wilson Sonsini’s dominance in the technology industry to create a thriving practice at the intersection of those areas. Victor played a critical role in building the firm’s litigation practice in LA. His work includes a long-running dispute between Warner Bros. and Disney over the rights to Winnie the Pooh and representing Hulu and Disney+ in putative class actions across the country.
