On September 26, 2024, Law.com announced the winners for its second annual New England Legal Awards, recognizing attorneys and firms from Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Wilson Sonsini’s Lou Lieto has been honored as a “Distinguished Leader” winner and Farah Gerdes has been named “Partner of the Year” winner.

Lou is the leader of the patents and innovations department at the firm, where he advises biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies on strategic patent counseling, global patent portfolio development and management, and IP counseling for M&A and capital markets in complex life science fields.

Farah founded and leads the technology transactions practice in Wilson Sonsini’s Boston office, where she focuses on the representation of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostic companies in complex collaboration and partnering transactions.
