On April 28, 2021, Delaware Governor John Carney announced the confirmation of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati partner Lori W. Will as Vice Chancellor in the Delaware Court of Chancery. Lori will replace Kathaleen S. McCormick, who was confirmed to Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery. With Lori's confirmation, she will become the Chancery Court's fifth female judge in its 230-year history.
Lori’s practice focuses on the representation of corporate entities and their directors and officers in corporate, complex commercial, and federal securities litigation, with a focus on stockholder class actions and derivative suits. She also represents clients in statutory appraisal actions and in books and records litigation. Lori’s practice is primarily in the Delaware Court of Chancery, with matters in other state and federal courts throughout the country. In addition, her practice includes conducting investigations on behalf of boards of directors and special committees, and providing advice to companies and their boards on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and the Delaware General Corporation Law.
Before joining the firm, Lori was a senior litigation associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and served as a law clerk to then-Vice Chancellor Leo E. Strine, Jr., retired Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court.
