On November 1, 2023, Lawyers Alliance for New York announced that Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati corporate associate Jennifer Yamin has been named among its 2023 Cornerstone Award winners. The annual Cornerstone Awards, which are the highest business law pro bono honor in New York, recognize outstanding pro bono service to nonprofits that are improving the quality of life throughout low-income neighborhoods. The honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony on November 2.
Jennifer is one of 13 individual honorees selected from more than 2,200 business and transactional lawyers who volunteered through Lawyers Alliance during the past year. Over the past two years, Jennifer has assisted eight Lawyers Alliance clients, including several workforce development and community arts nonprofits, with governance matters. Specifically, she has helped organizations clarify their bylaws and other governance documents, which are essential to nonprofit best practices as they make fundamental decisions such as whether to create a for-profit subsidiary, reincorporate an entity in Delaware rather than New York, or enter into shared services agreements with affiliates.
