On June 5, 2024, the World Trademark Review named Wilson Sonsini partner John Slafsky a 2024 Global Leader in the private practice category. The WTR Global Leaders rankings draw on a three-month nomination and research process to identify the best of the best in trademark practice.

To qualify for inclusion, WTR Global Leaders must be ranked in the Gold tier of the WTR 1000 listings of intellectual property specialists. Ranked lawyers must have considerable expertise and experience with legal issues related to branding, but also an ability to innovate, inspire, and go above and beyond for their clients.

According to the publication, John is an undisputed leader at the intersection of technology issues and intellectual property in California and the country. Sources note that he is “sharp, on the ball, straightforward, and always keeps an eye on the bigger picture” and a "go-to contact for trademark, copyright, design, and passing off issues."
