The profile highlights Tait's role in Snapkeys Ltd. v. Google LLC, a case in which a plaintiff asserted trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, and other claims featuring a keyboard application it alleged was misused by Google. Tait won summary judgement for Google developing its own keyboard application independently by suggesting a parallel between the facts of the case and the independent development theory often used in Hollywood screenwriter independent creation litigation –  the first time a court melded these two principles.
