Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati believes in enhancing the communities in which we live and work by providing financial support and volunteer services to worthy agencies and individuals in need.
In addition to the firm's pro bono program and the Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Foundation, our employees contribute to their local communities through the firm's community outreach program. The firm organizes numerous events throughout the year, helping to identify and support a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities. Examples include participating in food drives, walk-a-thons for medical research, habitat-restoration projects, and home and community facility renovation projects for low-income families and nonprofit organizations.
Apart from donating their time and talents, our employees regularly contribute to firm-sponsored fundraising drives. Examples include annual fundraising efforts that support organizations leading community-related initiatives and periodic matching-fund campaigns, such as those aimed at helping victims of natural disasters. In 2020, the Wilson Sonsini Foundation and firm employees raised over half a million dollars through a matching-funds campaign to benefit organizations focused on racial justice, including Equal Justice Initiative, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area.
During the months of October and November 2023, Wilson Sonsini employees participated in numerous 2023 Light the Night Walks nationwide to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and help fundraise for research to find cures and ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.
In addition to the walks, the firm held an online auction in support of LLS that featured numerous items generously donated by partners and staff, including a special weekend getaway at the Ritz Carlton in Lake Tahoe, amazing photographs, fabulous wine and specialty coffee, tickets to various sporting events and a concert, acupuncture sessions, autographed sports memorabilia, and various Wilson Sonsini-branded items. In total, the auction raised more than $11,100 for LLS.
Firmwide, employees and their friends and family raised nearly $71,500 for LLS, including $15,000 from the Wilson Sonsini Foundation and $15,000 from Don and Marianne Bradley.
