An Inside Look at the United Kingdom's New National Security and Investment Act

Please Join Us

On January 4, 2022, the National Security and Investment Act (the “NSI Act”) will come fully into force. The NSI Act grants the UK government authority to scrutinize a wide-range of investments, acquisitions, and other transactions involving certain entities and assets on national security grounds. In addition, the UK government will be able to review and, in some instances, impose mitigation measures upon—or even block—such transactions in order to address national security risk.

Please join Wilson Sonsini partner Michael Casey and a representative from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) for a webinar to discuss the NSI Act. The BEIS official will provide an overview of the NSI Act framework. The speakers then will discuss key issues related to how the new NSI Act framework will operate in practice. Participants will have the opportunity to ask the BEIS official questions about the NSI Act as well.

We look forward to seeing you there.
