U.S. News and Best Lawyers Honor Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati with Top Rankings
The firm ranked highly both nationally and in several geographies in the 2011-2012 "Best Law Firms" survey published on November 1 by U.S. News and Best Lawyers. Nationally, the firm received top rankings in the following areas: biotechnology law, corporate compliance law, patent litigation, mergers & acquisitions law, private equity law, securities/capital markets law, and venture capital law. The firm also received top rankings in several metropolitan areas, including Austin, the San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, and Seattle. In addition, the firm garnered high rankings in many other categories, including litigation (IP, M&A, regulatory, securities, antitrust, and commercial) and antitrust, corporate governance, corporate, energy, securities regulation, securitization and structured finance, patent, technology, real estate, tax, and project finance law.
Overall, U.S. News and Best Lawyers recognized 9,633 law firms ranked nationally in one or more of 75 practice areas and in metropolitan or state rankings in one or more of 119 practice areas. The rankings are based on an evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review, and additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process.
